U8 West Bridgford 30 - 30 Draw
U8 Sleaford 30 - 40 Lost
The group turned up with just enough to field a team. They performed extremely
well against a big West Bridgford team but tired as the morning progressed just
losing to Sleaford by two tries. Harry Finney scored 5 of the 12 tries on the
day followed closely by Ben Quinland with 4 tries. The other 3 were scored by
Oliver Williamson 2 and Bryron Wilson 1.
02-12-07 U8 Southwell Game 1 40 - 23 won Game 2 35 - 15 won
After the lose against Sleaford last week the team bounced back and scored a
convincing wins against Southwell. Oliver Grant scored 6 of the 15 tries of the
day. Congratulations to Tom Lewis who scored his first try for the team.
U7 Southwell Game 1 40 - 25 won Game 2 20 - 5 won Oliver Grant
A convincing pair of wins against a strong Southwell side. Harry Finney was top
scorer again this week with 7 tries of the 12 the team scored in the two
matches. Again the have a first time scorer in George Bowen - congratulation.

Game 1 Matlock 10 Ilkeston 5
A close match which saw Bayron Wilson and Harry Finney scoring for Matlock.
Game 2 Matlock 5 Ilkeston 0
An even closer game with only one try between the teams and that was again
scored by Bayron Wilson. Well done to Baryon for scoring in both matches.
U8 v Ilkeston
The same result as the U7 with both games being won and by the same margin. Ben
Quinlan scored in both matches.

Matlock U7 v Chesterfield U7

Game 2 20 - 10
A great day was had by all playing our local rivals Chesterfield. Matlock came
out top in both age groups and some great show and skill and pace were seen
through out the day.
The two captains of the day for the U7's and U8's both lead from the front both
getting on the score sheet - Oliver Grant for the U8 bagged two superb tries and
Sam Edwards for the U7's getting equally brilliant try.
In U7's Harry was the name of the day when it came to tries with Harry Finney
going over for 3 tries and Harry Rudkin for the final try.
In U8's special mention must go to Tam Buxton - on her first game for the club
she scored the try of the match running the full length of the pitch to score.
Ben Quinlan scored a fantastic 4 tries the most of anybody on the day and Oliver
Williamson claimed the other 2.

U7/U8 v Paviors
A very successful weekend. Playing our old foes Paviors the U7 and U8 teams each
played 2 matches and each age group won one and drew one. A big hand must go to
the 15 players who played in the two teams and special mention goes to the new
players who have joined us this season. It must also be mentioned that the two
captains of the day were both the top scores in their age group. All the players
and parents had a great day of rugby and we are looking forward to our next
match. Players - tell you friends what a great time you are having playing rugby
and bring them along next Sunday.

1st game Matlock 4 - Paviors 4, scorers Harry Finney 3 and Oliver Grant 1.
2nd game Matlock 5 - Paviors 3, scorers Ben Quinllan 2, Oliver Wilson 2 and
Harry Finney 1.
